06:58 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) has offered Microsoft ( MSFT ) -backed OpenAI workers signing bonuses of up to $100 million and even larger annual compensation packages, multiple media outlets reported, citing OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman.

This comes as the tech giant is looking to recruit top engineers to develop artificial intelligence models while building its "superintelligence" unit to gain momentum with competitors, the reports said.

Altman reportedly said that none of their best people have decided to take Meta up on the offer so far, adding that he thinks they are turning down the offers because Meta is not a company "that's great at innovation."

Meta has been offering high sums and has poached some of the top engineers across the industry, according to Bloomberg News.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
