03:16 PM EDT, 03/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) Chief Executive Marck Zuckerberg said Tuesday in an Instagram announcement that Threads is rolling out a "Trending Now" feature in the US on five timely topics.

The feature is available on the search page and in the users' "For You" feed on the Threads app.

The AI system on Threads identifies trending topics based on post frequency and engagement that are subsequently reviewed by content specialists to avoid duplication or misinformation, the announcement said.
