01:23 PM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) said Thursday it is partnering with production company Blumhouse to further improve the tools used in Meta Movie Gen suite to create artificial intelligence-based videos.

Movie Gen generates custom videos and sounds on text prompts, according to the company. Blumhouse selected filmmakers Aneesh Chaganty and Casey Affleck to collaborate with Meta researchers to try the tools to create videos for larger pieces, the company added.

Meta said it will continue to expand the Movie Gen program in 2025 and does not plan to include it in public products until next year.
