Meta Platforms to Face Trial in April Over FTC's Antitrust Suit
Nov 26, 2024 4:55 AM

07:32 AM EST, 11/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is set to stand trial on April 14 to face the US Federal Trade Commission's antitrust lawsuit against the company.

News outlets reported that US District Judge James Boasberg issued the ruling on Monday after he rejected earlier this month Meta's motions to dismiss.

The FTC filed its antitrust case against Meta in 2020, seeking to break up the social media major as it alleged that the company acquired Instagram and WhatsApp to maintain its leading position in personal social networks, according to the reports.

Meta Platforms ( META ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
