11:24 AM EDT, 03/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) said Wednesday it is creating four new custom artificial intelligence processing chips over the next two years to manage ranking, recommendation, and generative AI workloads.

The company is utilizing a diversified hardware strategy that combines third-party silicon with its proprietary Meta Training and Inference Accelerator components to scale infrastructure capacity, Meta said.

The MTIA 300 model is currently in production for training models, while the upcoming 400, 450, and 500 variants will primarily power generative AI inference processing through 2027, Meta added.

By using modular frameworks based on open industry platforms, Meta expects to release new hardware every six months instead of the standard multi-year cycle, the company said.
