Meta Platforms to Start Training AI in UK and Brazil Using Public Content
Sep 13, 2024 12:13 PM

10:57 AM EDT, 09/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) said Friday it will start training its artificial intelligence models using public content from adult Facebook and Instagram users in the UK and Brazil in the coming months.

The company said in a blog post that it is resuming model training after incorporating regulatory feedback to make sure its approach is more transparent.

Meta said it will not use private messages or data from users under 18. Instead, it will focus on public posts, comments, and photos.

UK users will start receiving notifications as early as next week about the data usage and can opt out via an updated objection form, Meta said in the blog post.
