07:18 AM EDT, 03/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) won emergency relief against a former employee who wrote a book on the company titled "Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism."
Nicholas Gowen, the American Arbitration Association's emergency arbitrator, issued the ruling Wednesday, saying Meta Platforms ( META ) will see "immediate and irreparable loss" in the absence of an emergency relief.
The ruling prohibits Sarah Wynn-Williams, former Meta employee, from further promoting her book and making "disparaging" comments related to the company. The emergency relief also halts further publishing or distribution of the book, including its electronic and audio versions, according to the ruling.
