12:15 PM EDT, 07/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms' ( META ) text-based conversation app Threads has gained more than 175 million monthly active users in its first year, Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said Wednesday.

"Threads now has more than 175M monthly actives. What a year," Zuckerberg wrote on the platform.

The app was launched last July in direct competition with X, formerly known as Twitter. Users can access Threads via their Instagram login.
