05:25 PM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Methanex ( MEOH ) , the No.1 methanol producer, on Tuesday said it reached new strategic partnerships to expand its methanol bunkering operations in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region and in South Korea.
In the ARA zone, Methanex ( MEOH ) is partnering with TankMatch to provide barge-to-ship methanol bunkering services. The move builds on a bunkering framework originally established via OCI Global and UniBarge, which Methanex ( MEOH ) acquired.
In South Korea, the company is partnering with Alpha Maritime and Hyodong Shipping to enable last-mile bunkering operations, allowing ships in port or near port to be refueled with methanol under safe, local logistics conditions.
Methanex ( MEOH ) said the partnerships aim to provide a fully integrated methanol fuel solution, combining its global supply chain with vetted local operational expertise, safety protocols, and support for marine fuel transition. The company emphasized that demand for low-carbon marine fuels is rising sharply, particularly in heavily trafficked trade corridors such as those served by ARA and major Asian ports.
"These partnerships allow us to safely and reliably fuel ships with methanol in two of the busiest global trade corridors that are pivotal to maritime decarbonization," said Senior VP Mark Allard.
Shares of Methanex ( MEOH ) were last seen down $0.53, or 0.97%, to $54.11 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
