08:58 AM EDT, 05/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission has approved Methanex's ( MEOH ) acquisition of sole control over the global methanol business of Netherlands-based OCI Global.

The commission said the acquisition would not raise competition concerns, citing its limited impact on the relevant markets.

Specifically, in the European Economic Area, the methanol market remains fragmented, and customers will continue to have access to multiple alternative suppliers, the commission added.
