Methode Electronics Names Kevin Nystrom Interim Chief Executive

06:25 AM EDT, 05/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Methode Electronics ( MEI ) on Monday named Kevin Nystrom the company's interim chief executive, effective immediately.

He succeeds Avi Avula, who resigned as president and chief executive officer of the lighting and LED engineering firm after four months on the job.

Nystrom previously served as a partner and managing director at AlixPartners. The company said that it has previously disclosed its ongoing engagement with AlixPartners for consulting services, including cost reduction and financial advisory.

Methode's board of directors, with the assistance of executive search firm Spencer Stuart, has initiated a search for a permanent chief executive.

The board also appointed Mark Schwabero, a current director and former chairman, chief executive and director at Brunswick, as vice chairman, effective immediately.
