MetLife Q1 Adjusted Earnings, Revenue Rise; $3 Billion Share Buyback Authorized

04:48 PM EDT, 05/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- MetLife ( MET ) reported Q1 adjusted earnings late Wednesday of $1.83 per share, up from $1.52 a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.82.

Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was $16.06 billion, up from $15.39 billion a year earlier. Adjusted revenue increased to $17.02 billion from $16.13 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $17.73 billion.

MetLife ( MET ) said its board approved a new $3 billion share buyback authorization, in addition to the $600 million remaining at the end of April.
