MEXICO CITY, July 23 (Reuters) - Mexico's largest
broadcaster Televisa on Tuesday posted a net
loss in the second quarter of 25.6 million pesos ($1.4 million),
diminished by higher costs and a fall in revenue.
The net loss for the quarter compared with a net profit of
133.5 million pesos in the same period last year, according to
the earnings report.
The company's revenues reached 15.72 billion pesos, down
5.8% year-on-year, mainly affected by a 13.3% decline in its
satellite television unit SKY revenues.
SKY saw about 262,000 disconnections while Televisa's
cable segment added about 10,700 broadband subscribers, while
losing about 65,600 video subscribers, with revenues dropping
3.1%.
