Mexico's Pemex pauses new service-provider contracts

MEXICO CITY, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Mexican state oil firm

Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, said on Thursday that its

exploration and production unit had requested a temporary pause

on contracts that had not yet been formalized.

The firm said that news reports that contracts had been

"frozen" were untrue. Bloomberg News had published on Wednesday

that Pemex had frozen new deals with contractors.
