MEXICO CITY, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Mexican President
Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that Carlos Trevino, former
CEO of state oil company Pemex, had been arrested in the United
States and would be deported to stand trial in Mexico for
corruption charges.
Trevino served as CEO of Pemex from 2017 to 2018,
stepping down after former President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador
took office.
Speaking at her daily press conference, Sheinbaum said
Trevino would face prosecution for alleged acts of corruption
during his tenure.
