09:56 AM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- MGM Resorts International ( MGM ) said Thursday it signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Escape Solar to "more than double" its access to solar energy.

The agreement will increase solar electricity use at 11 Las Vegas properties to 100% from 90% currently of their daytime needs, MGM Resorts ( MGM ) said.

The company also said Escape Solar +'s battery storage will allow use of solar power for exterior property lighting in the late afternoon and early evening hours.

MGM Resorts ( MGM ) said the deal advances its goal of sourcing 100% renewable electricity in North America by 2030.
