08:14 AM EST, 01/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microbix Biosystems ( MBXBF ) on Monday said it has begun a pilot proficiency testing program to ensure that molecular diagnostic assays can detect the emerging H5N1 strain of the Influenza A virus, or avian flu.

The program is being conducted in conjunction with the American Proficiency Institute, which provides proficiency testing programs for more than 20,000 clinical laboratories around the world.
