09:09 AM EDT, 08/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microbot Medical ( MBOT ) said Wednesday that it has been granted a patent covering its modular robotic surgical system from the US Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent coverage includes a base and a plurality of tool-receiver units arranged as separate units and independently and interchangeably attachable to the base, the company said.

The medical devices company said the patent will potentially enable its investigational Liberty system to be adapted in the future for a wider range of endovascular surgeries and expand its market to as many as 6 million procedures annually.

Liberty is awaiting US Food and Drug Administration clearance, the company said.

Microbot Medical ( MBOT ) shares were up around 3.5% in premarket activity.
