05:22 PM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) said Tuesday its Xbox unit has entered a multi-year partnership with Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) to co-engineer chips for next-generation gaming hardware.

In a video posted on the official Xbox website, Xbox President Sarah Bond said that the collaboration will support a range of devices, including consoles, handhelds, cloud systems, and accessories, while maintaining compatibility with existing Xbox game libraries.

Bond said the partnership aims to deliver advances in graphics and AI, and will support Xbox's broader goal of enabling play across devices, without tying users to a single platform.
