06:29 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) and Hitachi said late Monday that they have entered into a multi-billion dollar collaboration over the next three years to accelerate social innovation with generative AI.

The partnership calls for Hitachi to embed the Microsoft ( MSFT ) cloud, Azure Open AI Service, Dynamics 365, Copilot for Microsoft ( MSFT ) 365, and GitHub Copilot into Lumada solutions, the companies said.

The partnership also requires Hitachi to train more than 50,000 generative AI professionals, enabling them to acquire advanced software-development skills using GitHub Copilot and Azure OpenAI Service, as well as Azure OpenAI Service to enhance its customer service.
