Microsoft Launching Cloud Infrastructure Project in Indonesia

09:55 AM EDT, 05/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) said Tuesday it's opening its first cloud region in Indonesia to offer services like in-country data residency, high security levels, as well as lower latency.

The cloud infrastructure project has a planned investment of $1.7 billion in the 2024-2028 period, the company said.

The Indonesia Central cloud region is already available with Azure services, and 365 Copilot services will be available in H1, Microsoft ( MSFT ) said, adding the Azure OpenAI Service and other business applications will be available later.
