06:51 AM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) said Monday it has launched a new cybersecurity program designed for rural hospitals in the US.

Independent critical access and rural emergency hospitals can now qualify for up to 75% in discounts for Microsoft's ( MSFT ) security products for smaller organizations, the company said. Larger rural hospitals that are already using eligible Microsoft ( MSFT ) products can avail of an advanced security suite, free for one year, Microsoft ( MSFT ) said.

The company added that it will also offer free Windows 10 security updates, cybersecurity assessments, and cybersecurity training under the program.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) said it is working with the White House, the American Hospital Association, and the National Rural Health Association for the program's rollout.
