12:00 PM EDT, 08/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) said Friday it will host a summit on Sept. 10 with cybersecurity companies, including CrowdStrike ( CRWD ) , to discuss ways to improve resiliency and security for joint customers.

Last month's CrowdStrike ( CRWD ) outage underscores the need to work together, identify concrete steps to enhance customers' security and resiliency, and discuss safe deployment practices, said Aidan Marcuss, vice president of Microsoft Windows and Devices, in a blog post Friday.

The meeting, dubbed as Windows Endpoint Security Ecosystem Summit, will be held at Microsoft's ( MSFT ) headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) will also invite government representatives to ensure transparency, Marcuss said.
