12:13 PM EDT, 09/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) has signed a binding five-year $6.2 billion agreement with Norwegian industrial investment company Aker ASA and British data center company Nscale to secure high-performance artificial intelligence computing capacity in Norway, the companies said on Wednesday.
The capacity will be delivered in staged deployments beginning in 2026 with a project in Narvik, Norway, powered entirely by renewable electricity.
Cash flow from the deal will fund the project's capital expenditures, the companies said.
Aker ASA and Nscale said they plan to formally set-up the joint venture in Q3 2025.
