01:02 PM EDT, 09/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) said Monday it extended a partnership with Vodafone ( VOD ) under which the latter will roll out Microsoft's ( MSFT ) artificial intelligence-powered assistant to thousands of its employees.

Vodafone ( VOD ) plans to roll out the Microsoft ( MSFT ) 365 Copilot AI software to up to 68,000 employees across multiple countries to "improve productivity, innovation, and digital efficiency."

The two companies previously entered into a 10-year strategic partnership in January which saw Vodafone ( VOD ) utilize Microsoft's ( MSFT ) generative AI technology to power a customer service chatbot.

Vodafone ( VOD ) previously said it was planning to invest $1.5 billion over the next 10 years to develop cloud and customer-focused AI services in collaboration with Microsoft ( MSFT ).
