Molina Healthcare Agrees to $40 Million Settlement With Texas Over Medicaid Fraud Allegations
Mar 7, 2025 10:07 AM

12:57 PM EST, 03/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Molina Healthcare ( MOH ) and Molina Healthcare of Texas have agreed to a $40 million settlement with Texas following an enforcement action under the Texas Health Care Program Fraud Prevention Act, secured by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's Healthcare Program Enforcement Division, Paxton's office said Friday.

The lawsuit, initiated by a whistleblower, alleged that Molina failed to provide timely assessments for Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in the STAR+PLUS program, which serves Texans who are disabled, blind, or aged 65 and older.

The settlement resolves claims that Molina failed to promptly assess Medicaid beneficiaries for necessary services and hid its non-compliance from the state.

Molina didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Molina were up 3.2% in recent Friday trading.
