05:59 AM EDT, 08/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Montage Gold ( MAUTF ) late on Thursday reported a fatal accident at its Kone project in Cote d'Ivoire, prompting a pause in construction activities.

The company said a worker passed away as a result of injuries from an incident that occurred during earthworks activities at the project.

A comprehensive internal investigation into the incident has been launched and Montage said it will work closely with local authorities. The company also noted that the incident occurred a kilometer away from the employee's assigned work location.

Construction work at the project is scheduled to resume on Friday.
