08:13 AM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Monumental Energy ( MNMRF ) on Monday said the Copper Moki-2 (CM-2) well at the Taranaki Basin in New Zealand has resumed commercial production after the completion of a workover restored oil and associated gas production from the Mt. Messenger sands and addressed flow restrictions.
The Copper Moki-1 (CM-1) well workover is expected to take 10 days. The well will be placed on continuous production alongside CM-2 if the workover is successful.
CM-1 and CM-2 were originally shut-in due to mechanical issues, a statement said. The wells required only standard maintenance, and equipment upgrades to resume production. Late last year, Monumental Energy ( MNMRF ) struck a deal with New Zealand Energy (NZEC) to bring the wells back online.
Monumental Energy ( MNMRF ) will receive a 25% royalty on all oil and gas production from the Copper Moki site, following full recovery of its 75% initial capital contribution.
