Morgan Stanley to cut about 2,000 jobs, Bloomberg News reports

(Reuters) - Morgan Stanley ( MS ) is planning to lay off about 2,000 employees later this month, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The job cuts, the first major workforce reduction under CEO Ted Pick, will take place across the firm, except its roughly 15,000 financial advisers, the report said.

Morgan Stanley ( MS ) did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
