May 28 (Reuters) - Daniel Kerstein, a 15-year veteran of

Barclays ( JJCTF ), is joining Canada's Toronto-Dominion Bank ( MLWIQXX )

, according to a memo seen by Reuters on Tuesday.

Kerstein, who led a team focused on activist-shareholder

defense and ESG advisory at Barclays ( JJCTF ), will be a managing

director in TD Bank's M&A team, according to the memo.

He will be based in New York, the memo said.

Kerstein will lead structuring solutions and shareholder

advisory practice, a role designed to "enhance our mergers and

acquisitions (M&A) effort supporting and building C-suite and

board level strategic dialogue," TD's investment banking

division heads Geoff Bertram and Parker Weil wrote.
