07:41 AM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- MPLX ( MPLX ) , ONEOK ( OKE ) , Enbridge ( ENB ) , and gas transmission asset operator WhiteWater, through their Matterhorn joint venture, have reached a final investment decision to construct the Eiger Express Pipeline, WhiteWater said Monday.

WhiteWater said the companies have secured transportation agreements with mainly "investment-grade" shippers.

The Eiger Express Pipeline, expected to be commissioned in mid-2028, is designed to transport up to 2.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to the Katy area, WhiteWater said, adding it will build and operate the pipeline.

The project is 70% owned by the Matterhorn joint venture. Including their direct ownership interests, ONEOK ( OKE ) and MPLX ( MPLX ) hold 25.5% and 22% ownership in the pipeline, respectively, WhiteWater said.
