Two analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.65.

Net sales for the quarter ended June 28 were $1.14 billion, up from $997.7 million a year earlier.

Two analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.12 billion.

Shares of Mueller Industries ( MLI ) were up more than 1% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
