01:10 PM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nano Nuclear Energy ( NNE ) said it has been granted the US Department of Energy's Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear voucher award to assess its heat exchanger concept for open-air Brayton cycle in collaboration with the Idaho National Laboratory.

The concept provides a turnkey solution for Nano's portable ZEUS microreactor in development, the firm said Wednesday. The microreactor features a power conversion unit capable of generating 1 to 2 MW of electricity without the use of fluid coolant.

Shares of Nano Nuclear were down more than 5% in recent trading.
