10:23 AM EDT, 03/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nano Nuclear Energy ( NNE ) said Tuesday the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has designated it the reactor designer for the Kronos Micro Modular Reactor Energy System.

The company said it informed the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign it intended to continue collaborating on the project when it acquired the Kronos MMR Energy System from Ultra Safe Nuclear in January.

The proposed reactor will be located on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's campus, Nano Nuclear said.

Shares of the company were up 2.1% in recent Tuesday trading.
