03:06 PM EDT, 09/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nasdaq (NDAQ) on Friday terminated an employee over social media posts in connection with the shooting of US conservative activist Charlie Kirk, referring to the posts as a "clear violation" of its policy.
Charlie Kirk, an influential ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot on Wednesday while speaking at a Utah university.
"Nasdaq has a zero-tolerance policy toward violence and any commentary that condones or celebrates violence," the stock exchange said in a post on X.
Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter, reported the employee was a woman working as a junior-level sustainability strategist at the company.
