Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.70.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $413.4 million, up from $261.4 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $342.5 million.
The company said it now expects full-year revenue of $1.49 billion to $1.52 billion, up from its prior outlook of $1.42 billion to $1.45 billion.
Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $1.43 billion.
As of June 30, the company said it had about $887.1 million in cash and cash equivalents, short-term investments, and restricted cash.
Shares of Natera ( NTRA ) were up nearly 7% in after-hours trading.
