12:55 PM EDT, 06/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Bell announced a year ago, that it was selling Northwestel, the largest telecom in the North to Sixty North Unity (SNU), a consortium of Indigenous communities.
National Bank analyst Adam Shine notes that the sale is for up to roughly $1 billion, with $850 million payable at closing and the remainder to be paid over several years. The deal was expected to close in the fourth-quarter of 2024, subject to the buyer securing financing and Competition Bureau approval. The latter was received, but financing has yet to be resolved. The Globe and Mail reported that SNU "is still exploring a range of private and government funding sources to complete the deal."
BCE is rated Outperform, with a $35 target.
