National Bank on Airfares in Canada
Aug 20, 2025 3:54 AM

02:20 PM EDT, 08/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- National Bank notes that the July CPI data shows airfares were down year-on-year for the 13th straight month

Airfares in Canada continue to be relatively weak, writes analyst Cameron Doerksen. Air Canada ( ACDVF ) reported second-quarter results in late July where its passenger yield was down 0.7% y/y with passenger unit revenue down 1.7%.

Air Canada's ( ACDVF ) yields in the coming months could also be negatively impacted by the aftermath of the flight attendant's strike as the company may offer discounted fares to offset the impact of customer book-away in the lead up to and during the labor disruption.

Air Canada ( ACDVF ) is rated Outperform, with a $26 price target.

Transat is rated Underperform, with a $2.25 price target,

Price: 19.39, Change: +0.21, Percent Change: +1.07
