09:17 AM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas edged down early on Tuesday as long-term forecasts see mild weather for most states continuing into November, keeping demand light into the start of the heating season.
Gas for November delivery was last seen down US$0.01 to US$2.31 per million British thermal units.
The drop comes as long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service see most states east of the Rocky Mountains with warmer than seasonal temperatures over its six to 14 day outlook.
"The coming 15-day pattern is still bearish due to light to very light national demand on below normal HDDs [heating degree days]," NatGasWeather noted. "Essentially, the weather data is still bearish but not quite as exceptionally bearish as it was prior to Monday's colder trend."
