09:15 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas edged higher early on Tuesday as cooler forecasts are likely to offer some early season heating demand. Gas for November delivery was last seen up $0.01 to US$3.41 per million British thermal units.
The rise comes as long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service see temperatures in the eastern half of the United States near seasonal norms after a long stretch of warmer than usual weather.
A rising storm in the Caribbean may also offer support to gas prices. The National Hurricane Center said a tropical depression off Venezuela's coast has a 100% chance of forming into a tropical storm within a week, the first storm of the year with the potential to threaten producing platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
