09:20 AM EDT, 08/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas prices fell for a sixth-straight session early on Tuesday as forecasts see cooling temperatures for much of the country, easing cooling demand amid robust supply.
Gas for September delivery was last seen down US$0.02 to US$1.93 per million British thermal units, the lowest since July 29.
The drop comes as the National Weather Service's long-term forecasts expect most states in the eastern half of the county to be at or below seasonal averages for the next six to 14 days.
Supply also remains robust, with producers putting 108.7-billion cubic feet per day on the market on Monday, a weekly gain of 1.2 bcf, according to S&P Global Platts data supplied by the U.S. Natural Gas Supply Association.
