09:17 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas prices fell early on Tuesday on mixed long-term forecasts ahead of Friday's end to the cooling season. Gas for November delivery was last seen down US$0.12 to US$3.33 per million British thermal units.
The drop comes as long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service expect temperatures for states east of the Mississippi River to be cooler than seasonal over the next six to 14 days, offering some early season heating demand. However, states west of the river will warmer than usual, though well below midsummer highs.
"Weather systems will track across the northern and eastern US w/showers and highs of 40s-60s, lows of upper 20s-40s, including across Texas, the South, and Southeast w/highs of 40s-60s. Warm high pressure will rule large areas of the West w/highs 50s-70s, besides locally hotter 80s Southwest. Overall, moderate demand most of the next 7-days," NatGasWeather noted.
