Comparable analyst estimates were not readily available.

Total income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, expressed as the sum of net interest income and total non-interest income was 3.83 billion pounds, up from 3.54 billion pounds a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 3.76 billion pounds.

Shares of the UK bank were down more than 3% in recent premarket activity.
