Nelnet Signs Deal to Buy Finastra's Canadian Student Loan Servicing Business

09:29 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nelnet ( NNI ) and its Canadian unit said Thursday that they reached an agreement with Finastra's DH Corp subsidiary to acquire Finastra's Canadian student loan servicing business.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2026, the companies said.

The Canadian servicing business' headquarters will remain in Mississauga, Ontario, with over 450 employees and additional contractors, Nelnet ( NNI ) said.
