10:00 AM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NEO Battery Materials ( NBMFF ) , a silicon anode materials developer for lithium-ion batteries, Tuesday reported technological advancements in the company's silicon anode technology that touts "longer battery capacity retention while sustaining low costs."
NEO's engineering team "successfully modified the properties of existing additives" to achieve the two-way coating enhancements, according to a company statement.
Implementation of these advancements improves critical battery cell performance metrics of longer capacity retention; higher, steady Coulombic efficiency (a measure of capacity retention); and faster-charging rates.
Coulombic efficiency is the foremost metric that determines capacity retention in battery cycling tests.
"This year, we plan to reach new technology highs with silicon-graphite anodes and in full cells," says the Director, President and CEO Spencer Huh. "Additionally, our team has initiated recycled silicon evaluations with Lotus Energy and INNOX eco-M products."
