Neo Performance Materials Ordered to Pay Nearly 12 Million Euros in German Patent Case
Mar 3, 2025 4:30 AM

07:14 AM EST, 03/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Neo Performance Materials ( NOPMF ) over the weekend said the Regional Court of Mannheim in Germany ruled against the company's European subsidiary and ordered it to pay 10.3 million euros in damages plus 1.3 million euros in procedural interest.

In July 2022, Rhodia Operations (now Solvay) initiated an action in the German courts against Neo Chemicals & Oxides (Europe), and two of its employees, seeking damages due to the infringement of European Patent '338 in Germany. The judgment may be appealed by both parties within one month and is therefore not yet final, the statement said.

Neo does not expect the amount of the judgment to affect earnings in its fiscal first quarter. EP'338 has since expired and has no impact on the company's current products and earning, the company said.
