09:39 AM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Neogen (NEOG) said Monday the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has picked its Molecular Detection System as the main method to detect salmonella and listeria bacteria in meat, poultry and eggs.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service has been using the company's Molecular Detection System for salmonella and listeria for more than five years, Neogen said, adding that under the new contract the agency also selected listeria spp. and the company's Molecular Detection Assay 2 for salmonella enteritidis and salmonella typhimurium.
