07:20 PM EDT, 06/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Netflix ( NFLX ) has appointed lead independent director Jay Hoag as chairman of its board, succeeding co-founder Reed Hastings, the company said on Friday in SEC filing.

Hoag, who has served as lead independent director since 2012, assumed the role following the company's annual shareholders meeting on June 4.

Netflix ( NFLX ) said in April that Hastings was leaving to focus on philanthropy and other pursuits.
