Netflix Sues Broadcom, VMware for Virtual Machines Patent Infringement

07:29 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Netflix ( NFLX ) filed a lawsuit against Broadcom ( AVGO ) and its cloud computing subsidiary VMware for allegedly violating five Netflix ( NFLX ) patent rights in "virtual machines," according to a court filing on Monday.

VMware's cloud software products infringe Netflix's ( NFLX ) patents on virtual machines that remotely run another computer's operating software through a host computer, the lawsuit filed in California federal court said.

Broadcom ( AVGO ) and VMware did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
