07:38 AM EDT, 09/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- New Found Gold ( NFGC ) Monday said former Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dr Andrew Furey has joined its board as an independent director, effective immediately. Furey served as premier from August 2020 to May 2025.

The company also named Hashim Ahmed chief financial officer, succeeding Michael Kanesvsky, who will assist with the transition. Ahmed was most recently chief financial officer at Mandalay Resources before its Aug. 5 acquisition by Alkane Resources (ALK.TO).

In addition, New Found Gold ( NFGC ) appointed Robert Assabgui, its current study manager, as chief operating officer, effective immediately.
